What makes Berry Network better than the competition?
Advanced Media Planning Capabilities
Berry Network was the first CMR to develop a ZIP Code based directory selection model and a media migration model that indexes the total Internet universe, Internet Yellow Pages used, and local search site usage for every DMA in the U.S. This allows us to better understand media migration within a DMA and help our clients better allocate advertising spend across multiple search platforms.
Superior Client Advocacy
The combination of Berry Network's size, strength, and history of over 100 years in the industry – gives us an edge with regard to industry clout, position and integrity. We use these strengths to negotiate on behalf of our clients – to advocate on their behalf, and to secure the best rates and positioning available.
Unparalleled Client Satisfaction
Most organizations claim to have good client satisfaction, but Berry Network has the numbers to prove it. We conduct annual surveys to measure each client's level of satisfaction with our service. We study the client satisfaction scores to gauge the health of our organization. Thanks to our strong emphasis of excelling in client satisfaction, we consistently achieve superior ratings year-over-year.
Strong Principles
We believe in building successful client-agency relationships based on the foundation of mutual commitment and trust. Business relationships built around these principles not only thrive but achieve superior results. This philosophy permeates our organization. From day one, clients notice the Berry advantage and experience the genuine care and attention delivered by our highly-tenured staff to exceed expectations and deliver excellent results.

It is our belief that all markets are not created equally. In fact, painting the whole country with the same brush can damage a clients' program; resulting in lost leads and lost sales opportunities. Our research and proprietary tools help clients gain the hyper-local perspective needed keep their media investments well-aligned with rapid shifts in each of their consumer markets.
We will optimize your advertising ROI by utilizing our 5-step, media planning process. The cycle continuously evolves based upon strategic adjustments by the client or based on new test results or publisher information.
Media Planning Tools
The process described above is facilitated by a number of award-winning, proprietary tools and software applications such as BerryPRO® and BerryOPTIMIZER to combine data from a number of sources and provide smart recommendations intended to maximize the number of people who will see your ads. These proprietary tools and systems are outlined below:
BerryPRO®
A key criterion in directory selection is determining how many people use a particular directory. The problem is that only 15% of the 7,500 directories in the U.S. have measured research studies showing how many consumers actually use those directories. BerryPRO is an industry-leading directory usage forecasting model intended to predict directory usage or "reach" as compared to all directories at the ZIP-code level.
BerryPRO takes media planning to a deeper level and enables Berry Network to develop highly targeted media strategies. These strategies are aligned specifically to client trade areas and market demographics, thus placing advertising in the most effective directories to eliminate advertising waste.
BerryPRO incorporates the most current research from publishers and syndicated sources to predict directory usage at the ZIP-code level. While other agencies have directory usage models, they do not use multiple data sources to predict directory usage at the ZIP-code level. As a result, the recommendations from these companies lead to very different directory selection models and can lead to inefficient Yellow Pages advertising programs.
BerryOPTIMIZER
BerryOPTIMIZER is Berry Network's proprietary, award-winning media planning tool used to identify and prioritize the most important directories and Internet Yellow Pages relevant to your business. Using information from BerryPRO and usage information from comScore for Internet Yellow Pages, these models rank the print directories and Internet Yellow Pages in descending order of reach. The BerryOPTIMIZER can be used in a number of ways depending on your business needs.
We further enhance the BerryOPTIMIZER model using client sales data to create custom trade areas - to ensure your advertising is reaching the target audience for each center. The flexibility of our proprietary modeling system allows us to easily incorporate your sales data and to produce an annual model to help you optimize your print Yellow Pages placements.
Media Migration Model
Based on comprehensive research, it's our philosophy that consumer's media usage patterns vary dramatically by geography and that media migration varies substantially by market. As such, we believe an advertiser's approach in those markets should vary appropriately. That's why we developed a cutting-edge Media Migration Model that indexes total Internet universe, IYP usage (for YP.com, SuperPages.com, YellowBook.com, and DexKnows.com), and local search site usage (for Google Maps/Places and Yahoo! Local) for every DMA within the United States. This allows us to better understand media migration within a DMA and help our clients better allocate advertising spend across multiple local search platforms.
Instead of approaching our clients with a one-size-fits-all strategy, we develop specialized strategies for our clients which answer some of the most difficult questions about the ever-changing media landscape, including:

At Berry Network, we stand strongly by our philosophy that testing is only valuable if its results are actionable. We carefully structure tests to ensure a clean read on the results and select representative markets using our Media Migration Model. This allows us to ensure, with a high degree of probability, that we will obtain clear results and that we will know in what markets those findings can safely be applied. Our process brings some sanity to the testing process, while also allowing for strong, continual optimization of our clients' programs.
We work with our clients to develop customized testing strategies to monitor program performance. To do this, we'll identify specific tracking metrics on which to base online/offline success. These metrics will be based on established marketing objectives; such as acquiring new customers through lead generation, growing market share, customer service or a loyalty campaign for existing customers. Campaigns are localized based on local market strategies and goals and each program campaign is then measured against the tracking metric to evaluate return on investment. Testing plans typically include the following types of tests:
Interactive ROI Analysis
We will also conduct monthly tracking of the number of clicks to your website or to a unique landing page through our BERRYWEBSMARTSM tracking report which offers a summary of key metrics used to gauge program effectiveness.
The click and call testing and ROI analysis will assist in understanding your interactive media users, and helps clients avoid advertising on interactive programs that may not be generating a positive ROI.
